If you’re visiting or planning to visit Oahu the famous North Shore is SURE
to be on the top of your list. Aside from the beautiful angel wing painting
that’s a must for the ‘gram there are tons of amazing, fruit stands, coffee
shops, food trucks, and boutiques. To make it a bit easier, here are some
of the best places to go that we recently took our in-laws when visiting.
Big Wave Shrimp Truck
In a cute little lot right in North Shore, there are a bunch of food trucks
featuring Korean, Thai, and even more food from around the world, BUT
this specific shrimp truck was actually featured on Guy Fieri's show "Diners,
Drive-In's, and Dives". You can find photos of Guy in the kitchen trying garlic
and spicy shrimp as well as the hockey wings. When we went we tried all
of the above and I MUST say the hour drive from where we live on island
was so worth it. I wanted to go back the very next day! Be sure to grab a lei
and take a photo in their hula cutout next to the truck before you go.
Bubble Shack Hawaii
I have truly never seen more beautiful pieces of art than these handcrafted
soaps. Bubble Shack was started back in 2005 and today the creators are
an eclectic mix of musicians, surfers, animal rescuers, and even more-
each creation is so unique and vibrant! Over time Bubble Shack's mantra
has become more about creating ocean and environment-friendly bath,
beauty, and home products, specifically for the surf and ocean minded!
PS It’s right across the street from Big Wave Shrimp
Coffee Gallery
Okay, coffee lovers! We drove aimlessly and stumbled across this
adorable coffee shop by chance and OH MY GOODNESS! Aside from
being highly aesthetically pleasing with burlap sacks from previous coffee
hauls covering the whole ceiling, the selection of coffee and tea they have
is out of this world. Get everything from fresh juices, smoothies, blended
coffees. even poured over ice cream not to mention all of the milk substitutes;
they recently added macadamia nut milk!
I highly suggest the "coconater" - mocha coconut coffee
goodness!
